I have known Marcy Kyle since starting my dietetic internship and master program at UMaine in 2010. She is smart, humble and a role model I want leading the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She always advocates our nutrition profession in Maine and nationwide.

Every year many excellent candidates are put forward. Many of these people I have gotten to know thru my Academy work. I would like to recommend Marcy to you as President Elect. I was privileged to work with Marcy when I served on and chaired the Evidenced Based Practice Committee. She was insightful, forward looking with roots in the day to day challenges of a front line, MNT provider. Just what is needed today!

I’ve known Marcy for almost 15 years as a fellow Maine Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (MAND) board and committee member. She is a tireless worker, a trusted leader, a good listener, and a persistent problem solver.
Even as Marcy has taken on more demanding roles at the Academy level, she continues to make time to actively participate on the MAND Public Policy Panel and attend MAND meetings. She excels at mentoring newer panel members, creating context for our work in both our own history and in the work of the national organization. She understands the legislative and regulatory process better than any member I know. She is skilled at writing, reviewing, and presenting testimony. And she is confident and comfortable speaking to people from patients to senators and governors.
In every role she has played over the years, she reveals herself to be a natural leader, whom others listen to and respect for her her ability to see the big picture, define and solve problems, and partner with others.
Marcy will bring a positive attitude, appreciation for the contributions of others, unstinting effort, and a passion for nutrition and the dietetics profession to her role as Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics president.

I have had the privilege of working with Marcy on Academy committees and have seen what a phenomenal leader she is. We always laugh when we remember a FNCE 2010 session titled What’s Next in Health Care Reform? Challenges and Opportunities. As co-presenters, we faced numerous challenges -- from not having the presentation slides work to having some politically disgruntled attendees come up to the microphone upset with some of the governmental decisions on changes in the medical insurance and payment systems. We both held our heads up and persevered to complete what others told us was a "productive session.” This is what Marcy is all about. She is sincere, compassionate, "big picture" oriented, knowledgeable and always gives 120% in all that she does.
