Visioning Report 2017: A Preferred Path Forward for the Nutrition and Dietetics Profession

The COUNCIL ON FUTURE PRACTICE (CFP) was created by the House of Delegates as a permanent, organized body within the Academy responsible for a formalized, ongoing visioning process. One of the Council’s major functions is to ensure the viability and relevance of the profession by  defining future practice at all levels and identifying educational and credentialing needs required for future practitioners.

The Council is a 10 member Academy Committee that collaborates with and includes representation from ACEND, CDR, and the Nutrition and Dietetics Educators and Preceptors to help define a preferred future for the profession.  The committee also includes representatives from the House Leadership Team, practitioners from various areas of practice, and a young practitioner.

I want to highlight one of the accomplishments of the Council and past Council members that participated in the three year visioning process by encouraging you to read our publication of the Visioning Report 2017.

There is something in the visioning report applicable to all Academy members and CDR credentialed practitioners, regardless of position or area of practice. Members can use the information to better meet their own needs, the needs of their clients and customers, the needs of the profession, and the needs of society.
